Canada’s National Truck Show “Truck World 2008” – one of the most noticeable industry events of the year took place in a middle of last month in Toronto International Centre. Truck World is Canada’s largest truck show and the second biggest in North America. Held every two years in Toronto Truck World 2008 attracted about 25,000 visitors and featured close to 400 exhibitors. One of the “major players” of the show is Volvo Trucks Canada Inc. DorogaRoad: Booth of Volvo as well as Mack’s booth is strategically located at the entrance of the show. What is on display at Volvo booth?
Carol Fawcett: We have a large variety of highway tractors from the long haul with 880 and 670 models, right down to the day cab for city and local haulage. There is something for everyone.

DorogaRoad: I see here on display one of the famous Volvo engines…
Carol Fawcett: Yes, it is our D13, EPA 07 compliant engine, the replacement of the D12. We also have here I-Shift transmission – most advanced “automated mechanical” transmission – latest technology in transmission world.

DorogaRoad: How you will measure success of Volvo participation in this show?
Carol Fawcett: Good indication is when customer coming to dealership afterward to buy more Volvo equipment. We also run promotion here by extending to our customers compensation offer for the future test drive of new Volvo trucks at participating dealerships.

DorogaRoad: Are you talking about Volvo Country Passport?
Carol Fawcett: Yes, it is what exactly I am talking about. People bring this passport in, get it stamped, take it to dealership, test drive Volvo truck and receive $100 Volvo Voucher to use for purchase of parts, service or merchandise at Volvo dealer.

DorogaRoad: Anything you like to say for the customers of Volvo?
Carol Fawcett: Our customers are very important to us, we appreciate their business. Volvo trucks design to make truckers’ job easier, safe and comfortable. That is why our customers are coming back to Volvo.
